For the past nine months, the sound has been mysteriously dead on my computer. Nothing I tried worked. But tonight, for a lark, I tried hooking up my speakers again, and presto! I think what happened was that I recently removed a virus (my computer was very vulnerable for a while, and I had to work through some kinks in its system to get things *mostly* good again), and the virus must have gummed up my sound abilities.

So, now, I don't have to rely on housesitting and visits to friends to get my Homestar!
